Webinar Nicaragua, Climate Justice and Agroecology

Wednesday 10 February, 7 – 8.30pm GMT

NSC is glad to partner with Friends of the Rural Workers Association (ATC) to offer an opportunity to learn directly from those at the forefront of a global struggle for climate justice.

Find out about the impact of two major hurricanes on the lives of small-scale farmers, another example of the catastrophic consequences of climate breakdown on those who bear least responsibility.

In the lead up to COP26, what is the vision of climate justice that LVC is promoting? Why are agroecology and food sovereignty central to this vision?

And on what basis is the Nicaraguan government calling for reparations for losses and damages?

Speakers:

Rosalpina Gutierrez, Nicaraguan Rural Workers Association (ATC)

Amaru Torrez, ATC & Climate Collective, La Via Campesina

Guisell Morales, Nicaraguan Ambassador to UK

Facilitator:

Dee Woods, Landworkers’ Alliance, UK affiliate of La Via Campesina
